Individual therapy, also called therapy, psychotherapy, psychosocial therapy, talk therapy, and counseling, is an effective treatment for many types of mental, emotional and behavioral health issues. But, it can also help people who are facing difficult life situations, or would like to develop healthier, more functional personal habits. Dr. Adisa provides solution-focused individual therapy that can help improve and control symptoms influencing an individual’s well-being. 

Dr. Adisa is on the certification track to become a Certified Gottman Therapist—a designation earned by only a few hundred clinicians worldwide. This therapy was developed by Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Gottman who have  studied every aspect of human relationships and discovered the secrets to being successful in love and long term partnerships. Those secrets have been transformed into the Gottman Method. Some issues aren’t solvable, they’re perpetual, rooted in personality or values. If these leave you feeling stuck, you may be in gridlock. The goal isn’t to fix them, but to manage them with empathy and understanding.

Supervision

Dr. Adisa meets the national professional supervision standard and  is recognized by the Center of Credentialing & Education (CCE) as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) for 14 states. She provides hands on clinical supervision for Licensed Associate Counselors (LAC) working toward their 3000 hours of supervised licensure experience.
